Sustainability

As waste decreases, cities gradually change — and step by step, a nation's future takes shape.

ESG
Environment

Environmental contribution

  • A design that supplies no oxidant for combustion, suppressing dioxin formation
  • Carbon is not burned but carried forward as syngas
  • Continuous measurement of emissions and disclosure of results
  • Separate recovery of metals and glass
  • Prevention of methane generation (avoiding landfill)
  • CO2 capture and in-process use [under review]
  • Environmental improvement through proper waste treatment
Social

Social contribution

  • Facilities operated by Filipinos
  • Capability, jobs, and industry stay in the country
  • Technology transfer and human-resource development for local staff
  • A structure where the solution continues even if HFP withdraws
  • Improved living conditions through waste-treatment infrastructure
  • Raising public awareness through IEC (information, education and communication) activities for residents
Governance

Governance

  • Thorough compliance with local laws such as RA8749 and RA9003
  • Transparency across all facilities via the IoT (remote monitoring) platform
  • Continuous monitoring of political and legal risks at overseas bases
  • Transparent dialogue with stakeholders
  • Multi-layered governance through the three-layer ecosystem
SDGs

Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Building sustainable urban infrastructure by solving urban waste problems and easing landfill pressure. Distributed treatment cuts transport costs, congestion, and CO2.

Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Converting waste into syngas and recovering metals and glass separately, supporting responsible waste management by companies.

Goal 13: Climate Action

Non-incineration treatment that does not rely on combustion. Prevention of methane generation by avoiding landfill. We aim to contribute to the Philippines' NDC target (75% GHG reduction).

Goal 14: Life Below Water

As a side benefit of proper waste treatment, we help reduce land-based pollutants that reach the ocean.

Our Commitments

Measure, then disclose

We do not claim that nothing is emitted. Emissions are measured continuously and the results disclosed. Acceptance criteria and pre-treatment reduce chlorine load, and the design suppresses dioxin formation through a reducing atmosphere and rapid quenching.

Odor as a priority item

Odor can affect product quality and the working environment at neighboring businesses. Receiving and pre-treatment are enclosed indoors and managed under negative pressure.

Accountable for residues

Final residue is mainly ash. Secondary residues also arise: neutralization salts from gas cleaning, spent adsorbents and catalysts, and wastewater treatment sludge. Spent catalyst may contain heavy metals and is, as a rule, sent to a DENR-accredited TSD facility.
